| Physical Requirements | This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position also requires significant walking each shift. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications). |

| Job Summary | The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing medications to patients in an inpatient hospital setting; May prepare and/or deliver products for individual patient doses including batch doses. Participates in ongoing inventory management; replenishing automated dispensing cabinets; provides customer service in Central Pharmacy. Applicants who possess a National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) are eligible to be hired into a Pharmacy Senior Technician/UKHC position, which is a grade 7 ($18.50/hour – $27.31/hour). All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. UK Healthcare offers candidates who do not currently hold a National Pharmacy Technician certification the opportunity to gain the 500 hours of on-the-job experience required to be able to obtain your certification. Applicants who are not certified at time of hire are eligible to receive a pay increase and be moved into Pharmacy Senior Technician/UKHC, grade 7 role once certification has been obtained and 90 days of successful employment have been completed. |
