JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental Services Technician II at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for creating a clean, safe, and compliant environment to support delivery of high quality care by performing daily and special cleaning that meets departmental procedure and safety and infection control standards. This role takes responsibility beyond immediate ask for ensuring a clean environment and engages to provide high quality customer service and to identify opportunities for improvement across role responsibilities and activities. The Environmental Services Technician II channels efficiency and organization while remaining adaptable and flexible to support team needs as they arise.
JOB
FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities:

Performs daily floor care, stripping/refinishing and carpet care in all areas of the hospital in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures of the Environmental Services Department.

Performs all facets of cleaning department/hospital standards as needed.
Team Work:

Seek constant improvement and never says “That’s not my job”.

Works with co-workers of every department to make NMHS better for the patients and their families.

Takes ownership of spills or trash they see and clean it up.

Works as a team with EVS to ensure that every area is cleaned at a high level daily.
Clerical:
-
Completes floor care tracking sheet as assigned by manager.
-
Logs in/out of Tele tracking for lunch/break.
Customer Service:
-
Ensures excellent customer service.
-
Responds to management and internal departments in a timely manner.
-
Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities.
-
Provides support to co-workers and other departments as required/requested.

Follows AIDET and High Profile Cleaning during every patient cleaning/burnishing interaction.
Budget:

Ensures that supplies are used appropriately at all times.
Regulation:

Adheres to NMHS behavioral standards.

Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.

Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent GED or equivalent. Required
Licenses and Certifications
Work Experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Chemical/SDS knowledge; preferred

Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills; preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills; preferred

Good initiative and time management skills; preferred

Must complete EVS related training during initial training and annually thereafter

Must complete hospital based training annually as assigned
