It is a two-story structure with interior design features that integrate Native elements from the Arctic Slope region. All hospital services are located on a single campus. Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital serves the villages of Atqasuk, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Lay, Utqiagvik, and Wainwright.

 

Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital is a licensed 14-bed critical access hospital, also certified as a Level IV Trauma Center and features:

  • 14 outpatient exam rooms
  • Ten single inpatient rooms, including two labor and delivery rooms
  • Four emergency beds
  • Physical therapy
  • CAT scan
