Emergency Medical Technicians provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical services (EMS) system. Under the supervision and collaboration of a physician hospitalist, the nurse practitioner provides comprehensive direct patient care and practice to include obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examinations, order and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion inventions such as patient and family education and counseling.   Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
