The Pharmacy Technician-Level 4 (Pharmacy Technician Specialist) assists the Pharmacist with technical and non-technical routine duties related to the acquisition, storage and dispensing of medications, chemicals, and related supplies. The Pharmacy Technician Level 4 prepares medication orders, stocks carts and inventories, delivers medication to the nursing units, and fills medication dispensing machines. The Specialist also performs routine clerical duties in support of operations. Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, the Specialist prepares I.V., piggybacks and TPNs according to established policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Technician Level 4 works directly with the Pharmacist as it relates to technical and non-technical duties.
