Responsibilities In this role you will provide patient care, technical support, and administrative duties for an ophthalmology group practice. Patient care duties include: recording patient ocular history, obtaining visual acuity, autorefractometry, lensometry, tonometry, pupillary defect evaluation, confrontational field testing, OCTs, OCTAs, Visual Fields, administration of eye drops for pupil dilation with topical anesthesia, assisting with minor procedures, obtaining medical histories from patients with standard and rare medical disorders, and ordering supplies and medications for clinical use. Assistance with administrative duties include: clinic preparation, appointment scheduling, answering phones, and faxing of RX refill authorization. Qualifications Required: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or minimum 2 years’ experience working as an ophthalmic technician.
