The Laboratory Assistant Processor is responsible for assisting in various areas of the laboratory. They are responsible for receiving specimens and routing them to the appropriate area of the lab, prioritizing them, and ensuring that specimen labels are correct. The Laboratory Assistant Processor will also assist in preparing specimens for processing such as planting cultures in Microbiology, loading specimens onto certain analyzers, and centrifuging specimens. They will be responsible for performing phlebotomy duties as needed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Vocational training Certificate in Phlebotomy or equivalent on the job training OR must successfully complete PCH Phlebotomy training and Orientation.
Knowledge and Experience:
Some knowledge of laboratory processes and procedures
Color vision designation
PREFERRED:
Education:
Certified Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
Experience:
Previous experience working in laboratory
