This position in Dr. Bruce Spiegelman’s Lab will assist postdocs in performing scientific research aimed at understanding the mechanistic basis of metabolic disease. The research technician will collaborate with other scientists and team members, working independently as well as part of multi-disciplinary research teams to design and execute experiments for ongoing research projects. Duties include working with laboratory mice and conducting basic molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry techniques. Procedures include but are not limited to: isolation and analysis of DNA, RNA, and protein; cell culture; and mouse handling and experimentation. There will be extensive opportunities for intellectual engagement with data analysis, experimental planning, oral and written scientific communication, as well as exposure to cutting-edge experimental methods; the position will be a good stepping stone for those interested in a biomedical research career.
