The Nutrition Assistant compiles dietary information for patients of Island Hospital to be used by kitchen personnel in the preparation of all meals for hospital patients. Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and have the ability to process diet orders. Provides quality nutritional care to patients such as the development, implementation and monitoring of diets prescribed by the Physician. Will work collaboratively with the medical staff, patients, families and food service department to ensure the patients’ nutrition care plans are implemented, and departmental standards are maintained. Plans and conducts educational programs for dietary staff, medical staff, patients and community. Requirements: · Current ADA Dietetic Registration · Current Dietitian License issued by WA state · Must maintain current Food Handler’s Permit issued by WA state · Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a clinical or therapeutic dietitians in a hospital setting.

The Cook works with the Director in planning and preparing meals for patients and visitors to the Island Hospital Bistro with duties to include reviewing menus, special food orders, appropriate amounts to prepare, following standardized recipes with modifications as necessary for dietary restrictions, and other duties to support the operations of the Food Services department. Requirements: Must maintain an active Food Handlers permit.
