Obtain specimens from patients for laboratory procedures. Processes specimens for analysis, storage and reference lab testing. Instructs patients and other personnel on the proper procedure for specimen collection, labels, storage documentation, billing, and transport requirements. Transports specimens to facility. Qualifications Education High school education or equivalent GED required. Requires some knowledge of medical terminology and skill in use of computers including word processing. Experience Requires three months customer service experience, or experience working as a certified phlebotomist (32 hours of completed clinical rotation required), or 6 months experience in a medical field providing patient care, which includes drawing blood.
