Under the direct supervision of the clinic physician and management, applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to promote the ultimate resolution of the patient's medical problems. The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care demonstrating cooperative relationships and communication with all members of the health care team. The Medical Assistant contributes to patient care and the clinic through support of philosophy and objectives, educational and research efforts. The Medical Assistant assumes responsibilities as delegated by the clinic physician for direct patient care activities as well as clerical activities such as scheduling appointments and outpatient testing, answering telephone, filing, pulling charts, etc. The Medical Assistant works effectively with all members of the clinic health care team, both clinical and clerical.
