Job Description


In this role, you will be responsible for high level analysis, management and administration of Academic Personnel services to the Department of Surgery and departments in which cost shared services are provided, to assure that these services are performed effectively, and provided on a timely basis. Emphasis is placed on meeting deadlines, analysis and completion of projects.

As our Senior Academic Personnel Analyst, Supervisor, you will also be responsible for oversite of all academic personnel and payroll services for approximately 600 full-time and part-time faculty, academic researchers, clinical fellows, residents and voluntary faculty, including those at affiliated institutions. Other duties include processing Fellowship appointments and renewals for the departments, and acting as liaison with the Dean's Office, the Academic Personnel Office and other internal and external agencies. You will also oversee all aspects of UCPath payroll services for academic employees, special payroll processing, and retroactive merit and promotion actions.


Demonstrated working knowledge of academic personnel dossiers preparation, review and submission for all actions, including appointment, merit, 4th year appraisals and promotions.
Demonstrated working knowledge of academic personnel policies and procedures governing academic actions.
Demonstrated working knowledge of voluntary faculty appointments and promotions.
Demonstrated working knowledge of all steps necessary for initial appointment, including hire paperwork, including knowledge of employment forms (I-9, etc.), confidentiality, HIPAA, other required exams, and records management, benefits, beeper, badges, etc.
Working knowledge of University online payroll and personnel systems, including UCPath and UCRecruit.
Experience calculating HCOMP salaries and leave accruals.
Demonstrated skills and experience in overseeing functions to include organizing work flow to accomplish established objectives, delegating responsibilities, and training.
At least five years of experience with of academic salary administration in a healthcare setting
