Spring Harbor Hospital located in Westbrook, ME is seeking a Developmental Disorders Nurse Manager to join the dedicated team of Doctor’s, Registered Nurses, Board Certified Applied Behavioral Analysts, Speech and Occupational Therapists, Educators, Social Workers and Behavioral Technicians.
The Developmental Disorders Unit is one of 12 of its kind in the country and is the only hospital program in Maine where children with a developmental disorder, such as autism or intellectual disability, can receive intensive treatment for aggression, self-injury, and impairment in functioning and mental health challenges. With capacity for 12 children, this program produces the highest quality treatment outcomes through a combination of expert programming, specially trained caregivers and the individual potential of each patient. It is a cutting edge research center for autism and also houses the first playground in Maine created specifically for children with developmental disorders.
Strong leadership and communication skills will be important as the Nurse Manager will ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
The Nurse Manager assists the Director in the coordination, supervision, and management of all personnel and patient care activities of the unit and in the successful operation of the hospital and network at large.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. RNC preferred.
License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
Experience: 2+ years of psychiatric nursing or comparable experience preferred.
Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
Demonstrate expertise in clinical practice and judgment.
Demonstrate effective communication skills.
