Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit, unified adult cancer care and research center that is clinically integrated with UW Medicine, a world leader in clinical care, research and learning. In this senior creative role, the incumbent will be an important part of the rollout of a new Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center visual brand. Responsibilities The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring clarity, consistency and integrity in the presentation of our brand. They will oversee creative development of brand expressions and design collateral produced both in-house and in conjunction with external agencies. The incumbent will lead a talented team of designers guiding their work and ensuring the organization has the creative resources needed to achieve our mission.   Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Oversee development and delivery of purpose-driven creative inclusive of graphic design, illustration, photography, video and other creative elements across digital channels, paid media, environmental branding and more Working with the Vice President, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, establish governance standards and other systems that facilitate productivity and brand cohesion Maintain the brand style guide and visual identity. Be a visual brand gatekeeper, ensuring that all creative adheres to the guidelines Lead a team of creatives tasked with developing the collateral materials that support the Center’s strategic objectives and are aligned to our audiences Lead visual/graphic user experience discipline for the organization and partner with development and user experience team on deploying best practices across the organization’s digital and non-digital marketing and communications properties Collaborate with other Marketing and Communications leaders in support of integrated marketing to boost campaign performance, web traffic, engagement and conversion Manage project pipeline and ensure that all creative assets are on brand, on time and on budget Lead creative projects for executives and executive audiences

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in creative, graphic or visual design, human-centered design, fine arts or related 7+ years mentoring/managing creative teams inclusive of user experience designers Track record of building rapport/successfully collaborating with executive leadership, peers and partners (clinical, scientific, academic and/or non-profit setting preferred) 5+ years of progressively responsible creative leadership, design, and/or digital marketing experience in healthcare, agency, e-commerce and/or non-profit space Cause marketing, academic and/or research experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience with brand/visual design, extension and expression Deep background in classic design knowledge (use of typography, color, paper, printing techniques) and execution Conversant in creative marketing elements, including digital/print communications, event production, fundraising, social media, advertising, email marketing and content marketing At ease working in a fast-paced, iterative environment, partnering with others and synthesizing feedback Naturally curious, supportive and empathetic Excellent ability to conceptualize, communicate and inspire Analytically minded approach and good problem-solving skills, coupled with creative orientation Ability to guide creative sessions to support new initiatives and improve user experience  Technical Proficiencies: Software: Adobe Creative Cloud/Creative Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, AfterEffects), PowerPoint, KeyNote, InVision, Sketch, Zeplin, Asana, Tableau, CSS CMS: Adobe Experience Manager Fred Hutch has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine requirement, with exceptions only for approved medical or religious accommodations.
