Job Description

UK HealthCare and the UK College of Medicine are embarking on an bold expansion of philanthropy to fund our mission of delivering high quality patient care, conducting lifesaving research and educating the next generation of physicians. We seek an accomplished corporate marketing or advertising professional with experience engaging and closing mutually beneficial marketing programs with corporate partners. The successful candidate will have the executive presence and passion for the mission of key units such as Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Gill Heart Institute, the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center or the Markey Cancer Center to engage key corporate partners in programs that will generate revenue through point-of-sale solicitations of customers, corporate sponsorship’s or employee giving. This leader of philanthropy in our HealthCare enterprise will be responsible for raising $2-3M annually and coaching a staff team to raise $1M – $2M annually, significantly contributing to the dollars raised to support the mission and raise the profile of UK HealthCare in the community and Commonwealth. The successful candidate will have the executive presence and passion for the mission of key units such as Kentucky Children’s Hospital, the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center or the Markey Cancer Center to engage key corporate partners in programs that will generate revenue through point-of-sale solicitations of customers, corporate sponsorship’s or employee giving efforts that promote the mutual goal of supporting UK HealthCare’s vital mission for the community. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Philanthropy, the director will develop a strategic plan, engage, solicit and close new cause-related-marketing programs with approved prospects, as well as significantly expand the existing fundraising efforts of the Children’s Miracle Network to benefit Kentucky Children’s hospital. In addition, the director will screen and coordinate third party events run by donors to benefit UK HealthCare units, as well as develop direct mail and email appeals to donors as is prudent. S/he will accomplish these fundraising goals by overseeing a team that includes two associate directors and a coordinator. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a strong, collaborative leader with a proven record of success in building and sustaining relationships with corporations and corporate decision-makers. This position requires an individual who can engage and close corporate partnerships and match support for UKHC brands such as Kentucky Children’s Hospital to the marketing interests of corporate decision-makers. A demonstrated experience of success in marketing, B to B sales, as well as sponsorship messaging and persuasive writing is also required.
