Job Description

EF Accurately chooses insurance plans, understands guidelines and eligibility systems. Accurately interprets benefits and eligibility responses.(EF)           Collects from patients, posts payments correctly.  Able to reconcile cash drawer and complete deposit. EF Understands admissions forms, explains to patients correctly and obtains signatures.  EF Scans documents correctly. EF Familiar with all departments in the hospital, directs patients to the correct areas. (EF) Understands the paperwork flow for different scenarios.(EF) Able to use different software as assigned.(EF) Works reports timely/efficiently as assigned.(EF) Admitting area:  Knowledgeable regarding specific procedures and tests, as well as insurance requirements. Understands Pre-authorizations importance, as well as preparations needed for testing.(EF)  Understands the components of a valid order, assures this is present and scanned for all accounts.(EF)  Accurately figures costs of testing/procedures for patients with or without insurance.(EF)  Understands the process for Medical Necessity.(EF) Emergency Room: Understands EMTALA guidelines, and relationship to job duties.(EF) Able to adapt to quick changing environment with multiple demands.(EF) Understands SANE, Jane/John Doe process.(EF) Minimum Requirements  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Required:  High School Diploma Preferred:  Medical Assistant Certification/Medical Terminology or college courses with a Medical focus. EXPERIENCE Required: None Preferred:  Medical Office/hospital registration experience Special Skills and Abilities: Required:  Type 40 WPM Preferred:  Computer knowledge of Excel and Word
