Job Description


The Immunogenetics Laboratory is seeking to hire a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to execute a multitude of tests in relation to organ transplantation. In this key position, you will perform high complexity histocompatibility testing requiring serological techniques involving lymphocyte isolation and separation; microcytotoxicity testing; serum processing; cross-matching; and antibody testing using Luminex. 

We have multiple shifts available:

Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm, with rotating weekends and holidays
Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with rotating weekends and holidays
Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm with with rotating weekends and holidays
Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, with rotating weekends and holidays

Note: there is flexibility in moving the shift time by one hour based on candidate's availability and department's need

• A current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist license
• Ability to work outside of normal shift hours, including on-call and rotating weekends
• Experience and background in Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) and blood bank, preferred
• Background in molecular methods, reference ranges, test methodologies, instrument operation/maintenance as well as CAP and other regulatory requirements 
• Knowledge of relevant disease states in order to communicate significance of test results
• Ability to perform testing, documentation, interpretation, and report preparation for ongoing R&D and method development projects
• Must be a strong team player
