Job Description


The UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Program seeks an experienced Nurse Practicioner with recent acute care experience for SM and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725).  The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care.  The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals.  Document services rendered.  Cardiology/Cardiac Electrophysiology background preferred.

  • MSN degree with a specialty in Adult Acute Care (AG-ACNP) Nurse Practitioner- required
  • CA RN and CA NP license -required.
  • National Certification in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Specialty (i.e. ANCC) required
  • Cardiology experience as an RN or NP- required. 
  • Cardiology/Cardiac Electrophysiology experience -  preferred. 
  • BLS and ACLS cerifications from ARC or AHA- required
  • Ability to travel between the Santa Monica and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (Westwood) - required
  • NPI - less than 6 months of NP experience
    NPII - 6 months or greater of NP experience
