Job Description

Description The Cook/Cook Supervisor performs a variety of administrative and supervisory duties for resident services, oversees food production, quality control and customer satisfaction. Ensure the residents and staff food is prepared according to standards of operation and local State, VA and Federal regulations. Ensure department security including opening and closing. Maintains adequate stock levels, conduct food and stock ordering, receive and rotate the storage of stock, supervise food service production. Maintain professional level of competence and stand in for the Food Services Supervisor in their absence. This is a part-time position with various shifts, both days and evenings. Every other weekend is a must.  There are two possible schedules for this position:  4:00am-12:30pm or 6:00am-2:30pm, both are every other weekend

Qualifications

Requirements Experience working in a health care food service establishment or commercial kitchen and strong supervisory skills is preferred. Must have knowledge of safe food handling, preparation of food served, all production matters, and some therapeutic needs of the residents and to assure that all information is followed properly on diet cards and recipe cards in the facility.
