Job Description

CNA Instructor Maine Veterans’ Homes South Paris is seeking a CNA Instructor. The CNA Instructor will be involved in the interview and selection of CNA-In-Training candidates and instruction of the CNA curriculum. They will provide a quality education for program for CNA students and perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the core values, mission, policies and procedures of Maine Veterans’ Homes, serving as a teacher, mentor and facilitator of learning. This position will also share in the on-call responsibilities. CNA Instructor Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting students in developing an understanding of values, attitudes and ideals appropriate to the health care profession. Orients students to the clinical area, and demonstrates proper procedures. Leads discussions and elicits information from students which demonstrates that students are learning and accomplishing clinical objectives. Maintains clinical standards and course expectations throughout each course. Evaluates and grades student performance. Meets with students for formal evaluation throughout and at the end of the course to discuss progress and performance. Qualifications

Current unencumbered RN license to practice in the State of Maine Two years of nursing experience and at least one year of experience in the provision on long-term care facility services Ability to perform physical work with residents and students in a clinical setting. Demonstrated ability in teaching adult learners. Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements.
