Responsibilities

The UCLA Health Research Senior Data Compliance Analyst (RDCA) will serve as the CTSI lead responsible for the delated responsibility from the UCLA Health Office of Compliance Services. In this role, you will directly report to the Director of Quality and Navigation Services in the Office of Clinical Research and indirectly report to the UCLA Health Chief Compliance Officer. As our  RDCA, you will advise investigators on obtaining appropriate access to UCLA patient data, including defining the data they need and obtaining IRB and Compliance approvals. You will also be deputized to grant final Compliance sign-off via proxy approval on data requests/data releases, develop streamlined policies and procedures on data requests/releases, and train junior analysts in supporting this process.

As our RDCA, you will conduct reviews of data requests being processed by junior analysts. Additionally, you will manage the onboarding and training of Junior RDCAs and oversee the development of related training materials.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or Health Services strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience working with clinical data, or equivalent experience from graduate training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of UCLA IRB and Compliance requirements for research project data requests, including thorough understanding of de-identified, limited, and identified data sets, and PHI, and defined by HIPPA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the UCLA Health Care delivery system and patient utilization of resources to better inform construction of data queries to pull appropriate patient populations
  • Outstanding ability to communicate, interact with, and train end-users of various skill levels and backgrounds, both individually and in groups.
  • Demonstrated understanding of health care delivery and clinical research processes, and the data generated by these activities.
  • Ability to change, with direction, work priorities to accommodate changing requirement and/or immediate needs.
  • 2-3 years experience with quantitative analysis; demonstrated skill in fundamental statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of database systems.
