Job Description

Texas Health Rockwall is excited to announce a new opportunity to support the expansion of our Perinatal Services department! The Nursery/NICU RN Supervisor will work with a dedicated Perinatal Services team and physicians placing a high priority on safety, physical, psychological and social needs of our patients. The RN Supervisor will documentation in baby’s electronic health record, perform timely completion of assessments and follow individualized care plans for baby. The RN Supervisor is focused on providing thorough attention to baby’s overall condition including respiratory, nutrition, elimination, sleep, hygiene and mobility. This is a FT night shift position - schedule 3 12 hours shifts/week. Responsibilities include: Quality/Performance Improvement -  Collaborates with Leadership and care team to establish, implement, and monitor department policies/procedures, unit goals, patient care and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes. Model the use of High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools in everyday practice and situations and encourages staff do the same. Engage staff to promote evidence based practices within the unit. Shared Decision Making - This role provides bedside leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, coordinating  patient flow, patient care and assignments. Responsible for assisting the manager/director with human resource management to include evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education and orientation. Patient and Family Centered Care - Effectively communicates with patients, families and other healthcare team members to provide excellent care, educate and support family members, and meet patient care needs. Facilitate patient/nurse assignments based on volume, acuity and skill mix, and provide coordination of patient care on nursing unit while maintaining productivity standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's from an accredited School of Nursing TX RN license 3 years experience in specialty area 2 years experience as a charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor, etc. BCLS, NRP Excellent customer service and supervisory experience.
