Provide scheduling/patient coordination to the Interventional Radiology Consultation Center. Work collaboratively with various teams for financial questions/concerns identified by the patient, parent or guardian. Work collaboratively with procedure schedulers with regards to scheduling questions/concerns. Communicate with referring service/physician on all patient-related matters involving the outpatient population. The Administrative Assistant III will be assigned tasks including:

·        Active participation in clinic patient flow and quality improvement process

·        Communicating all fees to the patient

·        Confirming insurance authorizations are on file (when applicable)

·        Generating UCLA ID numbers for new patients

·        Greeting patients on arrival

·        Obtaining all appropriate medical records, labs, photos and maintaining patient charts

·        Scheduling appointments in Westwood and Santa Monica locations but not limited to these locations

·        Sending out new patient packets

·        Updating patient information in Care Connect


·        Ability to work as part of team and establish cooperative working relationships with administrators, physician, peers, and the public

·        Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures for Radiology, including scheduling of appointments and procedures

·        Extensive experience in organizing workflow in order to accomplish established objectives

·        Familiarity with insurance authorization process

·        Familiarity with Radiology scheduling, Care Connect system and clinic scheduling procedures preferred

·        Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding

·        Knowledge of Medical terminology

·        Minimum of 3 years experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
