Summary

The crew at Sports Surgery strives to improve the quality of life for each patient who comes through our doors. As a Patient Service Representative you will be an important point of conduct for each patient as they enter and leave appointments, and the voice when they call on the phone. The job duties range for this position, as there are always patients to check in or out, phones to answer, and calls to be made. The practice currently has 16 providers and is still growing. We sometimes help our other practices, so there will be opportunities to moonlight at different offices in the Sports Medicine department. This could help you learn more and decide how best to grow your career here at MaineHealth.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to be able to handle many patients coming in and out on a daily basis, along with a very heavy call volume. This person would be great at juggling many tasks in a calm and organized manner.

 

  • Position Summary
    • The patient service representative (PSR) will greet patients in a friendly and courteous manner, answer telephones, schedule appointments, and perform other overall general office duties as assigned. The PSR will also collect, verify, enter, and monitor patient data while complying with the federal, state and MaineHealth confidentiality policies.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    1. Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: N/A
    3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience helpful.
    4. Knowledge and skills in using office equipment.
    5. Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
    6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks.
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone.
    8. Strong computer skills.
    9. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
    10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    11. Ability to work independently and as a team member with minimal direct supervision.
    12. Ability to maintain a professional manner even under stressful situations.
