Job Description


We are seeking a skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team and provide dietary assessments and counsel to participants according to research protocol. You will assist in the set-up, coordination, and management of the Industrial, Sponsor and Investigator - Initiated Studies, clinical trials and research activities related to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Division of Clinical Nutrition; assist in preparation and maintenance required study & regulatory binders; processing and maintenance of all required IRB/FDA, sponsor and internal regulatory documentation. Duties and skills will also be provided to the Department of Medicine Professional Group, Division of Clinical Nutrition, and Risk Factor Obesity Program. In this role, you will develop, plan and provide nutrition education and counseling services and plan, organize, coordinate and implement group nutrition intervention activities for the dietary intervention of Surgery and Oncology patients.


Clinic responsibilities:
As a Care Connect End User, you will be responsible for patient documentation in electronic medical record. Execute CICARE level of visitor and patient care. Provide program orientation on an individual or group basis. Orientation includes introducing the patient to the RFO Program and available diet plans within the program, lectures series, program expectations, etc. Assist the patient in selecting the diet plan that will best meet their individual nutrition goals and lifestyle, ranging from a very low calorie all-liquid diet to a diet consisting solely of food; conduct patient follow-up appointments on a weekly basis to evaluate progress, identify strengths and struggles, discuss environmental and dieting strategies, aid with behavior modification, offer physical activity recommendations, and adjust the diet and/or meal plan as necessary.

•       Ability to provide dietary counseling according to protocol
•       Clinical research experience as a Study Coordinator in research involving human subjects. Working knowledge of good clinical practices for clinical research.
•       Current California RD License
