As our Senior Dietician, Supervisor you will offer integrative
educational assessment for cancer patients regarding appropriate nutrition
before, during, and after cancer diagnosis and treatment. Reviewing
current nutritional habits and use of supplements and making recommendations
founded on best evidence-based research you will help patients make appropriate
nutritional choices based on evidence-based research and consult with other
providers including other medical nutritionists and inpatient and outpatient
teams to ensure sound continuity of care. Assist in the assessment of
nutritional needs of oncology patients across the diverse communities of the
Hematology/Oncology practices and take lead in the development of new group and
individual oncology nutrition patient programs to meet those unique cultural
needs.
In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary
team of psychologists, oncology social workers, chaplains and psychiatrist
conducting overall wellness assessments at various points in the continuum of
cancer care, as well as part of the integrated medical team of oncologists,
nurses and other medical team members caring for patients. You will review,
assess, and provide direction regarding psychological wellness, complementary
therapies including nutrition and physical activity and mind/body strategies to
optimize well-being including providing specific recommendations for
nutritional choices. Participate in teaching, training and educating patients,
family members as well as other providers in accordance with UCLA Hematology/Oncology
standards. Attend monthly meetings with Division leadership to discuss
state of the nutrition program, new hires, donor relations and vision for
forward movement of the nutrition program and work closely with other Divisions
at UCLA Health to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation.
Knowledge and 5+ years prior experience with oncology diagnosis. You will hire,
train, and supervise professional and administrative responsibilities for other
Division dietitians.
