Provides project management skills and leadership for teamwork required to complete projects, and implements them on time and within budget. Plans and implements enhancements, upgrades, and supplemental application products according to project schedules. Coordinates and acts as lead to staff and projects involved with application system support, problem resolution, and training related to the information systems used within Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

Department Specific Competencies
Conducts in-depth analysis of system related problems to provide recommendations for solving them.
Provides senior technical leadership and assistance on information system initiatives and/or projects.
Provide implementation expertise for one or more Cerner applications.
Documents problems and enhancement requests, logs points and works with the Cerner team to resolve issues.
Designs and builds the application database; develops test scenarios, conducts end user training and cross trains other IS or departmental resources.
Plans, coordinates, and communicates all aspects of the projects and application systems to key stakeholders, users, department management, and senior management in written and verbal forms.
Develops and evaluates requests for project support on application systems with hospital user departments to obtain all requirements for hardware and software that will meet hospital and user department needs.
Works closely with stakeholders and users to assist them with their reporting needs.
Conducts training and in-service sessions for Department and other end users.
Prepares and conducts meetings with agendas and minutes.
Provides written procedures, documentation outlines, and training for use by all Applications and Integration Services staff as required.
Develops and maintains good communications and relationships with vendors to increase hospital and departmental credibility and to enhance service for the organization.
Escalates all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes necessary corrective action or suggests alternatives.
Understands application responsibility areas thoroughly and maintains technical knowledge of supported applications.
Maintains awareness of competitive system offerings and makes recommendations on possible additions or enhancements to existing systems that fit within the hospital goals.
