Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a member of MaineHealth, seeks an inpatient Child Psychiatrist to join our team in Westbrook, Maine. The Psychiatrist will join Spring Harbor Hospital, the flagship inpatient hospital of Maine Behavioral Healthcare. The physician will work with a team of experienced and passionate professionals, and will report to the Medical Director. The ideal candidate will have a passion for treating children and adolescents in an inpatient setting. 

Desired COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • M.D./D.O. degree
  • Board eligible/board certified in Child Psychiatry
  • Experience in clinical treatment for the population is preferred
  • Interest in teaching and/or clinical research preferred
  • Licensure in the State of Maine required prior to start date
  • Must display strong interpersonal, planning, forecasting, analytical skills and maturity required to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required

Duties and Responsibilities of the job

  • Provide psychiatric services for clinic patients
  • Work with the clinic team to develop effective, multidisciplinary treatment plans
  • Model and teach treatment strategies for residents and fellows
  • Attend team meetings regularly to review patient progress
  • Work with the medical director to refine the clinic treatment model
  • Maintain medical records in accordance with MBH policy
  • Make available clinical data for research purposes as needed and performs research assessments as requested
  • Perform clinical rating measures as part of the standard clinic/program routine (Parent rating scales, etc.)
  • Use of electronic medical record (EPIC)
