Job Description

Primarily responsible for managing diagnostic schedules to accurately and efficiently schedule procedures, communicate with technologists to assure accurate schedule, provide accurate procedure instructions, educate ordering physician/office of accurate protocols, and promote customer service. Utilizes education and expertise and knowledge of clinical aspects of the scheduling area to troubleshoot scheduling problems and continuously works with customer including physicians, other staff members, patients, family members to achieve positive outcomes. This activity requires focused critical thinking skills and problem solving initiative or a high professional level to achieve positive outcomes in the clinical scheduling environment. Always exhibits exemplary core customer skills and values and completes other duties as assigned.   Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working in a health care related field required. Prior experience working specifically in healthcare system patient clinical scheduling preferred.    Education: Associate Degree required.     Certification: Successful completion of Medical Terminology required.     Special Skills: Exemplary level oral and written communication skills required.   Ability to quickly develop rapport with customer base including but not limited to physicians, co-workers, and ancillary personnel.   Ability to multi-task,   Exemplary telephone etiquette skills required.   Proficient level on Microsoft office software in Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer required   Strong PC skills required     Other: Prior experience with Meditech system preferred.     Physical Requirements: Light Physical Agility Testing (PAT) Rating While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job and will be measured by post offer Physical Agility testing with a required "Light" rating to verify ability to meet the requirement.
