The RN - Nurse Educator is responsible to provide the education for the Nursing department to ensure the provision of quality patient care and promote effective team performance. This will be accomplished through participation and design of classes and in-services that meet the standards and goals of Bothwell Regional Health Center.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible to provide BRHC nursing staff with a challenging environment to promote growth and learning in their chosen profession.
Act as a role model, mentor and coach to the units’ complement of nursing and support staff as she/he seeks to recruit and retain an appropriate skill mix of qualified, competent nursing personnel.
Assist in the development and implementation of programs/opportunities to enhance critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills for BRHC nursing staff. Support for the Nurse Education Coordinator with grant projects, etc.
Maintain education records, class rosters and promotions, scheduling procedures, assists with testing procedures/grading, and certification requirements.
Demonstrates cooperation in fulfillment of other duties as requested within the scope of the job description.
RN Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
Baccalaureate Degree or current enrollment in a program
Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Missouri.
BLS required (Instructor preferred)
Specialty certifications required (ex. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, etc)
Minimum of three or more years of experience in education
Strong clinical base in critical care/emergency department required. Critical care experience preferred.
