For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $5,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Respiratory Therapists!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Respiratory Therapist position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

~ 36 Hours a week ~

Waldo County General Hospital has an immediate need for a full time Respiratory Therapist to join our care team. The Respiratory Therapist will administer all Cardiopulmonary Services in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Waldo County General Hospital.  The Respiratory Therapist will provide specified job related clerical duties and utilize respiratory therapy expertise in order to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care staff members. They will function as part of the patient health care team with staff from other departments involving patient care activities. Respiratory Therapists assist the department manager with in-services and public relations activities.  

Waldo County General Hospital is a 2017 Becker’s Hospital Review Critical Access Hospital to Know that operates as a family of services with Waldo County Medical Partners and Penobscot Shores Retirement Community. Waldo County General Hospital is part of the Coastal Healthcare Alliance and the MaineHealth system.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: N/A
  2. License/Certifications: RRT licensure required for less than 10 years’ experience. CRTT Certification required for over 10 years’ experience. BCLS Required. ACLS strongly preferred.
  3. Experience: One year of acute care experience preferred. See also 'License/Certifications"
  4. Availability to work any shift as needed; be available to take call on a regular basis.
  5. Willing and motivated to learn and perform all modes of therapy that are provided by Cardiopulmonary.
  6. Smoking cessation class within the first year of employment.
  7. Willing to travel to Pen Bay Medical Center as needed to provide coverage.
