Sterile Processing Manager
The SPD manager provides professional patient services within assigned unit of hospital, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital. They are responsible for sterile processing services throughout the health care system.
Education: Graduate of approved School of Nursing, Sterile Processing School, or Surgical Tech.
Experience: As required by department/unit
Technical Skills: As required by department/unit
License/Certification: Current Louisiana Registered Nurse License or Multi - state compact license if RN. Certification of CBSPD for Sterile Processing, or Certification for Surgical Tech.
Coordinates and executes daily SP schedule.
Communicates with Director, and OR management to identify daily priorities.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
Generated solutions and attention to detail
Generates daily and relief assignments of personnel
Works with educator to achieve optimal orientation for new employees.
Prioritizes sterilization by acuity with required (Level 1 Trauma)
Communicates with multidiscipline within LCMH
Ensures required emergency equipment is available.
Executes directives to lead techs.
Assists in development, implementation and enforcement of department initiatives, Performance Improvement, Healthy Workforce, and AAMI standards.
Creates and manages staff schedule
Serves and liaison between Director and Staff
Proficient use of the Censitrac instrument management system.
