Cove’s Edge is a dually certified 76 bed Long Term Care and Skilled facility located on the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth in the heart of beautiful mid-coast Maine. Position Summary (This position will consist of 24 hours per week.)

The Patient Accounts Coordinator - LTC is responsible for census and verification of insurance, the processing of charges, billing and collection of all services provided by Coves Edge includes third party payers either manually or through electronic submission. The Coordinator is responsible for follow-up on past due accounts until either paid or sent to collection. The Coordinator is responsible for answering billing inquiries and to follow through with patients/residents questions or complaints. The Coordinator will post payments and run reports as appropriate. The Patient Accounts Coordinator is responsible for understanding and adhering to all billing guidelines and ensures that updates are kept current in the Hi-Tech billing system. The Coordinator is also responsible for setting up charges and processing recurring claims and doing follow-up for Cove’s Edge and associated entities until bills are paid and claims are adjudicated.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education: Two to four years of college or technical school business training preferred and/or three to five years of experience in a healthcare or business office.
    2. License/Certifications: N/A
    3. Experience: See "Education." Computer experience necessary.
    4. Good communication and organizational skills are needed to perform this job.
    5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as billing regulations, safety manuals, policies and procedures, office equipment manuals. Ability to write correspondence and to communicate via email. Ability to communicate effectively with patients/residents and other employees
    6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to use an adding machine.
    7. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
