Job Description

This position is responsible for providing primary health care and treatment of patients under the supervision of or in consultation with a physician.Job FunctionsProvides general patient care under the direction of or in consultation with a physician utilizing the process of observation, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient clinical problems and health care needs.Consults with physician regarding unusual or abnormal cases and makes appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.Provides input in the development of policies, programs, procedures or protocols for the clinic.Performs preventative health counseling and instructs patients in treatment plans.Performs patient follow-up.Assists physicians with procedures.Recognizes and responds appropriately to medical emergencies including telephone triage.Serves as a patient advocate and resource to clinical staff.Assists in planning, evaluation, coordination and revision of patient care services.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Education/Work ExperienceGraduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.Minimum of two years previous NP/PA experience in a primary care or urgent care settingCPR CertificationKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to effectively handle high-stress fast paced environmentAbility to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functionsAbility to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned aboveAbility to multi-taskAbility to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned aboveLicense/CertificationsCurrent Minnesota Nurse Practitioner licensure and CPR CertificationSummaryThe location of work for this position is primarily in Belle Plaine, but would require some flexibility to occasionally work in Delano.The schedule would generally include working  three 12-hour shifts the first week of each pay period and two 12-hour shifts and two 10-hour shifts the second week of each pay period.  It also includes working every other weekend.Additional InformationFTE:1.0Weekend Rotation:Every Other WeekendHoliday Rotation:None at this TimePrimary Shift:Day/EveningDepartment:Ridgeview Clinics
