Under the direct supervision of the registered nurse, applies the nursing process of reassessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to promote the ultimate resolution of the patient’s nursing problems. Provides direct nursing care on the units demonstrating cooperative relationships and facilitative communication with all members of the health care team. Contributes to nursing and the hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational and research efforts.
Formal Education and Certifications
Current professional licensure in the State of West Virginia, or multistate license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
CPR (if CPR is not current on hire or will expire during department orientation, staff must attend the next available CPR class after hire)
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): Must successfully complete CPI class every 24 months. (If CPI is not current on hire or will expire during department orientation, staff must attend the next available CPI class after hire).
