For a limited time this position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $5000.00 for ALL Registered Nurses  *Prorated bonus based on hours (Per Diem not eligible)

Current Maine Health member employees are not eligible for bonus; former SMHC or MaineHealth Organization Care Team Members that have been separated from employment for a minimum of 6 months are eligible.

Float Pool/Resource Center

Float / Resource is the unit for RN's that are looking for a challenge, have a broad range of skills - or - want a broad range of skills; looking for versatility.

  • Ability to float between medical and post-surgical, Cardiac, Special Care units provides great exposure to other specialties while continuing to expand your experience and skills.
  • 12 hour shifts
  • Build a solid foundation to launch your career in any direction with the skills and experience gained working as a Float/Resource RN.

Position Summary

The health care work force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, cost-effective, clinically-effective, coordinated care.  To do these things successfully, the work force must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in health care delivery and technology.  The Registered Nurse is responsible for performance of complex, individualized, family oriented nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures under the direct supervision of a charge/shift leader RN. 

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: BSN preferred. 
  2. License/Certifications: Current licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing as an R.N. required. BLS and ability to perform CPR required. 
  3. ACLS preferred.
  4. Experience: Minimum of one year acute care experience as an R.N. preferred.
