The Director provides operational leadership to the day-to-day patient care services of the TH Outpatient Oncology and Infusion services at assigned locations. The Director directs, coordinates, and has twenty-four hour accountability for the clinical services within the medical oncology and infusion departments. This entails evaluation of employee work performance, providing personnel counseling and disciplinary action in cooperation with TH HR department, the Director of Cancer Services and/or the Medical Director of Cancer Services. The Director communicates and collaborates with other departments for problem identification and resolution. Through the Director, clinical activities are coordinated with other departments. The Director will maintain, review, and revise clinical policies and procedures for the department and communicate with staff in order to facilitate compliance with policies and procedures. The Director will develop and maintain a positive rapport with physicians and administrative staff and generally seek to guide services to “best in practice recognition” The Director will provide direct patient care if needed; helps to develop and work within an annual budget and complete other duties as assigned.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years clinical leadership experience, required.
Education: ADN, required. BSN, preferred.
Current Oncology Certification (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) preferred. If hired with no current OCN certification the employee will obtain OCN certification at own expense within 18 months from the start date of employment with GHS.
Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.
American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the GHS Staff Development Office are approved by Staff development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two years.Special Skills:

Ability to be driven with independent work assignment management and prioritization skills required
Prior experience where strong self motivation, organizational and interpersonal skills were required
