Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a member of MaineHealth, seeks an Adult Psychiatrist to join our team in Portland, Maine. The Psychiatrist will join the newly established Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders to provide psychiatric treatment and help shape services for a new multi-disciplinary outpatient clinic composed of therapists, behavior analysts, psychologists, speech and occupational therapists, and case managers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for treating adults with autism and developmental disorders. We may consider a part-time role for the right candidate.

Desired COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • M.D./D.O. degree
  • Board eligible/board certified in Psychiatry
  • Experience in clinical treatment for the population is required
  • Interest in teaching and clinical research preferred
  • Licensure in the State of Maine required prior to start date
  • Must display strong interpersonal, planning, forecasting, analytical skills and maturity required to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required

Duties and Responsibilities of the job

  • Provide psychiatric services for clinic patients
  • Work with the clinic team to develop effective, multi-disciplinary treatment plans
  • Model and teach treatment strategies for residents and fellows
  • Attend team meetings regularly to review patient progress
  • Work with the medical director to refine the clinic treatment model
  • Maintain medical records in accordance with MBH policy
  • Make available clinical data for research purposes as needed and performs research assessments as requested
  • Perform clinical rating measures as part of the standard clinic/program routine (Parent rating scales, etc.)
  • Use of electronic medical record (EPIC)
