Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire MLT/MT/MLS for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area.

Position Reports to: Laboratory Director
To perform all routine or complex laboratory procedures, and additional laboratory management functions that may be assigned, reporting to the section head, laboratory administrative director, or medical director.
Perform general or specialized specimen acquisition and test procedures, modifying procedures where indicated and have good problem solving skills.
Set up and maintain technical equipment, work areas and systems, and records.
Assess or interpret test results, technical literature, and maintenance data.
Set up, monitor, and interpret quality control systems.
Recognize, investigate, and solve technical, operational, and equipment problems.
Supervise and train other laboratory personnel as required.
Must be able to interact and perform standard specimen collection procedures effectively on neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients, understanding and reacting effectively to their individual and unique needs on an as needed basis.
Special duties as required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science, related science or clinical discipline and completion of accredited technologist program. Registered or registry eligible by ASCP and if registry eligible at time of hire must pass exam within 18 months of hire date to remain employed.
The employee must successfully complete an orientation checklist and satisfactory performance assessment within 3 months of hire date.
The employee is required to be neat and personable, able to work diplomatically with patients, visitors, physicians and their office personnel, business representatives, and other hospital employees.
Weekend, holiday, and occasional overtime work is required, as well as coverage of all schedules and shifts where necessary. Must be able to respond to emergency situations during off-hours. Dependability for attendance is necessary.

Manual dexterity, organization, ability to work without direct supervision, and dependability for accuracy are essential. The employee may perform/assist with painful clinical work and/or handling biological materials. The employee must be able to handle an average amount of walking, standing, and bending, and must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee must possess adequate vision and hearing to safely perform their job functions. The employee must have the hearing abilities to communicate with patients to assure accuracy and patient safety, to easily hear auditory alarms and be able to communicate with coworkers and outside professionals. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is that encountered while performing the essential duties described. The noise level is usually moderately high.
