Primarily responsible for managing diagnostic schedules to accurately and efficiently schedule procedures, communicate with technologists to assure accurate schedule, provide accurate procedure instructions, educate ordering physician/office of accurate protocols, and promote customer service. Utilizes education and expertise and knowledge of clinical aspects of the scheduling area to troubleshoot scheduling problems and continuously works with customer including physicians, other staff members, patients, family members to achieve positive outcomes. This activity requires focused critical thinking skills and problem solving initiative or a high professional level to achieve positive outcomes in the clinical scheduling environment. Always exhibits exemplary core customer skills and values and completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a health care related field required.
Prior experience working specifically in healthcare system patient clinical scheduling preferred.
Associate Degree required.
Successful completion of Medical Terminology required.
Exemplary level oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to quickly develop rapport with customer base including but not limited to physicians, co-workers, and ancillary personnel.
Ability to multi-task,
Exemplary telephone etiquette skills required.
Proficient level on Microsoft office software in Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer required
Strong PC skills required
Prior experience with Meditech system preferred.
