The Information Systems Senior Interface / Programmer Analyst’s main role is to monitor and maintain the functioning of all interfaces used by/within the organization. This includes working all edits/errors associated with each interface. The Interface Analyst is also responsible for technical/application troubleshooting, quality assurance and documentation.
Responsibility is shared with other analysts for optimal use of the support systems, including all planning, troubleshooting, testing, training and understanding the Meditech reporting modules.
Must be knowledgeable of all Heath system systems and how they relate to each other.
This person must be able to lead teams and oversee all aspects of implementation and upgrade projects.
Strong customer relations communications and project tracking skills are required.
The position functions as a consultant to hospital staff, under the direction of the IS Management, to utilize the systems effectively to maximize productivity.
A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
Supervise, coach and train analysts and programmers
Assess system capabilities and undertake feasibility studies that include financial considerations and time lines
Create workflow diagrams, explore alternative solutions, write programs
Comply with health system standards for production, quality and productivity
Train system users, serve as an information resource, develop resource materials, provide ongoing support
Write documentation for system references
Stay on top of new technology trends, join organizations, attend seminars, conferences and ongoing opportunities for education
Experience/Qualifications: Minimum Associates degree in computer science field, business or healthcare related field. Prefer bachelor’s degree in computer science field, business or healthcare related field. At least 3 years in an analyst position or 5 years healthcare information systems and interface / programming experience.
Four years’ experience in business applications interfacing / programming
Two years’ experience in SQL or PL/SQL
Two years’ experience in systems analysis
Four years’ experience with complex relational database structures
Exceptional written communications, technical writing skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Friendly and collaborative interpersonal skills
BS or MIS in computer science or business administration preferred
One year of experience with Oracle or other database applications preferre
Special Skills: Has 3 - 5 years strong computer experience in healthcare and Information Systems, project and resource management skills, thorough understanding of hospital departmental operations, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills, and above average interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work as part of a team and able to understand and utilize technical resources.
