Assess a patient?s condition and collaborate with other providers to determine a course of care. Follow guidelines and protocols guiding patient care within Ohio Scope of Practice and TriHealth policy. Ventilate and oxygenate patients using available adjuncts, as appropriate. Performs high quality CPR. Use proper patient movement & packaging processes to keep patients safe and secure during all patient movement. Works collaboratively with hospital unit staff. Transfer patients from one healthcare facility to another healthcare facility and report observations and treatment(s) to the staff. Creates a patient care report documenting all assessments and medical care given to the patient. Replaces used supplies and checks or cleans equipment after use. Based on patient acuity, when transporting a patient to a healthcare facility, one EMT may drive the ambulance while another monitors and treat the patient and gives additional care.
EDUCATION: High School Degree or GED Successful completion of state administered nursing assistants' competency test Basic Life Support (BLS)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Reading and math ability appropriate to the position.
