Job Description

The Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services at assigned location(s) according to professional practice standards. The person in this position will work under the direction of the team physician and Director of Orthopedics at Lake Region Healthcare. The Athletic Trainer will provide appropriate bracing and taping, injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and assessment of athletic injuries. This position will also assist the Lead Athletic Trainer in the development of sports medicine services in Fergus Falls and the surrounding communities. The Athletic Trainer will assist in coordinating physician coverage as needed for athletic events at their assigned location(s). The person in this position will assist with programming at Athletic Republic and provide educational presentations as requested and needed.

Must have obtained a bachelors degree in athletic training and/or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred in a health science or related field. The person in this position does not need prior work experience in athletic training- internships and clinical experience while seeking degree is recommended. Successful completion of a BOC certification and current state licensure is required for this position. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level/AED CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.


Varies, 80 hours biweekly.
