Waldo County General Hospital is currently hiring for a Registered Nurse for a full time role working 36 hours a week supporting the Evening and Night Shifts.

  Position Summary
  • The Registered Nurse provides high quality patient and family centered care; in accordance with the scope of practice defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Through collaboration, delegation and communication with members of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers care to a diverse population without discrimination in assigned areas. The Registered Nurse will be flexible and available to work in assigned units as needed serving primarily adult and geriatric acute and critical care patients. The Registered Nurse supports the mission, vision and values of MaineHealth.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maine.    Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification; ACLS and PALS or PEARS preferred.    Certification in area of expertise preferred including annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting laboring women.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years in an acute care setting. Critical or emergency setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff
  • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination
  • Ability to respond the changing workload based on patient census and to direct, supervise and evaluate care in order to individualize nursing care provided to patients
  • Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
