Parkland Center of Clinical Innovation (PCCI) is looking for an energetic software engineer to design, develop, test, and support PCCI's machine learning platforms. This platform is used to advance our mission of leveraging machine learning to drive personalized and precision medicine. In this role, you will: Interact with Clinicians, Data Scientists, Engineers, Product Managers, and leadership to define and deliver complex features. Design, develop, debug and deploy predictive machine learning platforms . primarily on cloud based, distributed platforms. Drive test-driven development and automate usage patterns by leveraging Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) . Dive into the technical complexity of features and bugs when needed and be able to recommend priority of issues . Identify opportunities to drive innovation, accelerate product launches, and remove bottlenecks to deliver results . Dive deep to identify root causes of issues and/or generate reports and extract data to identify problem patterns.
Education : Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field. Prefer a Master's Degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience : 1+ years of experience in developing and shipping enterprise applications, preferably in a cloudbased environment using Python. A history of academic excellence or professional success. Experience working with healthcare organizations payers, providers or R&D institutions is a plus.
Skills or Special Abilities : Strong programming experience in Python. A thorough understanding of design and implementation of REST APIs, services, system tasks, and cloud solutions. Strong attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills. Familiarity with GitHub practices, and comfortable managing multiple repositories. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals. Familiarity with data science tools and frameworks. Passion for data and analytics. Familiarity with SQL and reporting tools like PowerBI.
