The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for providing appropriate staff for the patient care units in collaboration with the Manager/Director and Administrative Supervisor. The Staffing Coordinator is also responsible for operating the BMH Direct Admit transfer Center.
Perform clerical/ administrative duties to the staffing department including but not limited to: answering and transferring phone calls, notifying managers and House Supervisors of changes in scheduling needs, filing/organizing paperwork, receiving and faxing work excuses to HR, managing add-ons to the GI schedule after hours, imputing House supervisor schedules into the Trauma Case alert system, ordering office supplies and patient nutrition for after hours, tracking durable medical equipment (SCD machines, wound vacs etc), and operating the BMH Direct admit transfer center.
*Assess, evaluate and calculate daily staffing needs (to meet core staffing needs) of each inpatient unit in the organization. Occasionally provides staffing support to the ED, Rehab, Memorial Specialty, Same Day Surgery, and Archer Institute.
*Receives all employee (patient care areas) call-ins and adjust schedules to maintain suitable staffing levels
*Provide payroll support to the Nursing payroll department. Receives and issues live checks on Pay day.
*Staff and document charges for all inpatient 1:1 sitters.
*Maintain proficient skills in multiple programs including: Ansos, Paragon, Trauma case alert, ESF8 portal, LERN, One Content, Excel, Word, Outlook email, Resource Scheduling, Bed watch etc.
*Assist the House Supervisor with Surgery /GI/Cath lab call outs.
*Receive transfer request from outside facility and coordinates with House Supervisor, Hospitalist, and Specialist to facilitate transfer.
*Assists House Supervisor with PICC/Midline gate keeping.
High School Graduate
Knowledgeable of Various Computer programs, 2 yr. Similar experience preferred.
Efficient in Medical Terminology
