Directs the daily operations of the assigned Advanced Practice department, including being responsible for the vision and leadership planning strategy, goal and objective setting/attainment, budget and personnel management, quality and safety initiatives, and policy development and implementation to ensure high quality services and optimal patient outcomes.
-Must have completed a graduate or post-graduate level Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Anesthetist educational program accredited by a national nursing education accrediting body that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Board of Nursing
-Must have a Master's degree in Nursing.
-Must have ten years of progressively responsible nursing experience to three years as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and three years of supervisory experience.
-If hired at Parkland before March 1, 2014, may have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Must have current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
-Must have a current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Nurse Anesthetist by the Texas Board of Nursing.
-Must have active certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the appropriate National Certification Board.
-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (AANPCP) OR
-Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) by ANCC or AANPCP OR

-May be required to have current CPR-Healthcare Provider (CPR-HP) from one of the following:

May be required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP)
-If privileged as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at Parkland, must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any.
-Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction by November 1, 2014 or obtain within 30 days of placement in role whichever date is greater.
-Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.HCB: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals by November 1, 2014 or obtain within 30 days of placement in role whichever date is greater.
-Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) by November 1, 2014 or obtain within 30 days of placement in role whichever date is greater.
