The Unit Lead Nurse is responsible for assisting with clinical management and assisting with the administrative coordination of the nursing unit. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and assisting with administrative unit responsibilities to ensure effective delivery of evidenced based clinical patient care. Assists with ensuring compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

Functions as the clinical expert and resource, directing patient care activities on the unit, as evidenced by attendance at mandatory leadership classes, courses and inservices.
Takes a patient assignment as needed and provides meal and break relief coverage.
Coordinates and delegates aspects of care to team members consistent with their level of education, competence and scope of practice in order to meet patient needs.
Assists physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures.
Coordinates entry of patients into the Endoscopy Center.

Registered Nurse License
BCLS or ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association
ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association
