Glenridge is looking for a high performing Registered Nurse (RN) that’s committed to providing quality care to palliative care patients on our Comfort Care Unit. "Comfort Care" is rooted in a palliative approach and defined as compassionate, specialized, end-of-life care. The ideal candidate will have: • A current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion • Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively • At least 1 year of nursing experience (required); hospice or palliative care experience preferred. Job Description: Develops plans of care based on the priorities of balancing quality of life, relieving suffering, controlling symptoms, and optimizing functional capacity. Implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
