Under the supervision of the ER Leader, the ER Tech performs a variety of duties to carry out the necessary requirements for good patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Maintains cost effectiveness in providing patient care.
2.Participates in problem solving and implementation of plans for departmental improvement.
3.Reports any suggestions for positive changes or recommendations within the scope of the nursing function and in view of existing policies and procedures to charge nurse and unit manager.
4.Demonstrates a proactive attitude; seeks to remedy situations before a mistake is made.
5.Is able to prioritize basic duties with no assistance.
6.Completes all assigned duties in a timely manner.
7.Consistently demonstrates a self-directed, mature, disciplined approach to completing work duties.
8.Makes every attempt to complete assigned duties; requires no “wake-up” time.
9.Demonstrates responsibility through responsiveness to others and competent follow-up matters requiring additional attention; reports incomplete work to the charge nurse.
10.Attends to personal health affairs so as not to interfere with the work schedule; maintains emotional and mental stability necessary for the successful performance of all job duties.
11.Employee demonstrates consistent and appropriate use of engineering controls, work practice controls, work practice controls and personal protective equipment as directed by OSHA’s Blood borne Pathogen Standard.
12.On a daily basis, demonstrates attention to patient, family and visitors’ needs, and exemplifies LGH’s mission statement.
13.Assist patients with change of position and ambulation when necessary.
14.Ability to skillfully assist physicians with all procedures.
15.Ability to skillfully assist nurses with all nursing tasks and procedures.
16.Competency in all skills and duties as well as operation and maintenance of equipment andinstruments which are required on a daily basis.
17.Cleanliness with all work and break areas exhibited.
18.Satisfactorily completes all required competencies, skills checklists, and required testing during designated orientation period.
19.Satisfactorily maintains and renews yearly competencies.
·High School Graduate or GED required.
·Current BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire
·LGH Approved Crisis Prevention or De-escalation Training required within 6 months of hire
·Previous ERT or equivalent experience preferred.
·Computer & various equipment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
·Medium Work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21-50 pounds on occasion and/or a maximum lift of 11-25 pounds on a frequent basis
